ELS San Francisco – North Bay is located on the campus of Dominican University of California in the picturesque Northern California city of San Rafael.  San Rafael, easily accessible to San Francisco by bus and ferry, is safe and beautiful, with many chances to experience American culture as well as to explore nature.

Great Things to See and Do

  • Muir Woods National Monument: Visit California’s beloved 115-meter redwood forest, only 30 minutes north of San Francisco.

Host family students are responsible for their personal transportation. Most students commute to ELS by bus, or bicycle, although there are a few families within walking distance

Student Residence (Off Campus)

The ELS Student Home in San Rafael is located in a very safe, quiet area. It is within a short 5 minute free shuttle ride offered to and from the center, and also provides free trips upon students' requests to the nearby mall and grocery stores.
